Answers to the most common questions about the blood draw, the check-up, membership, doctors and privacy.
How does the Rosa test work?
You book in the app, pick an accredited partner lab near you and go. The draw itself takes a few minutes. Your sample is analysed for 80+ biomarkers, and your report lands in the app with a plan built around what it found.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. No referral, no insurance, no waiting list. You book in the app, choose your partner lab and go. You shouldn't need permission to find out how you are.
Where does the blood draw happen?
At accredited partner labs in Milan and Rome. You pick the most convenient one when you book: they're all on the map, with addresses and opening hours. We're opening in more Italian cities through 2026, so tell us yours when you sign up.
Do I need to fast before the blood draw?
Yes, 10 to 12 hours. Water and your usual medication are fine, and drinking more water than normal actually helps: hydration makes veins easier to find. We send the full instructions the day before, so you don't have to hold them in your head.
How else should I prepare?
Wear loose sleeves. Tell us if you have needle anxiety or have fainted in the past, so the lab team can take it at your pace. Everything else is in the reminder we send the day before.
What happens after the draw?
Press gently on the site for a couple of minutes, keep the bandage on for four to six hours, skip heavy lifting for the rest of the day, and drink extra water. Otherwise, carry on as normal.
When do my results arrive?
Within 10 working days of the draw. We email you the moment your report is ready.
My values are “normal”. Why does Rosa say they are not optimal?
Because those are two different questions. A lab's reference range tells you whether you're ill today, and it's built from the general population. The general population is not in great shape. Rosa adds a second band: the values associated with the lowest long-term risk. You can sit comfortably inside “normal” and still have room to move. That gap is where prevention happens.
What does a complete check-up actually cover?
It depends who runs it. A standard check-up stops at six to eight values: blood count, glucose, total cholesterol, liver enzymes. Rosa reads over 80, across heart and circulation, metabolism, liver, kidneys, hormones, inflammation and micronutrients. Same single draw, ten times the picture.
Is the panel the same for men and women?
The draw is the same, the reading isn't. Rosa compares your values against people of your sex and age rather than a generic average, so ferritin, haemoglobin and the iron markers tell a different story in a 45-year-old woman than in a 45-year-old man. It's precisely why “normal” doesn't mean the same thing for everyone.
Does Rosa calculate my biological age?
Yes, and it comes from your blood rather than a questionnaire. We use PhenoAge, a published model that combines nine markers (inflammation, liver and kidney function, glucose, blood count) to estimate how old your body is next to the date on your passport. It appears in every report, so you can watch the gap close or widen.
Can I run the test more than once a year?
Yes. Membership includes one full test a year. Additional full tests or targeted re-checks of specific biomarkers are available at member rates.
Can I upload past tests?
Yes. You can upload previous lab reports in the app. We extract the values automatically and add them to your timeline so you see the full curve, not a single point.
Are the labs certified?
Yes. All samples go to ISO 15189-accredited Italian partner labs. The same standard used by the public healthcare system.
How accurate are the results?
We work only with certified, accredited Italian laboratories that meet the highest standards for equipment, staff and quality control. No test is 100% accurate: the specific assay, the quality of the sample and certain medical conditions all play a part. It's why trends over time tell you more than any single result.
Who reads my results?
Rosa’s engine decides every clinical number, and a physician reviews anything that crosses a clinical threshold before it reaches you. Italian law (Law 132/2025) requires that oversight for AI-assisted interpretation, and we agree with it.
Can I ask questions about my results?
Yes. Rosa's coach is in the app all year and answers from your own results rather than from a search engine. It stays on lifestyle ground: anything that needs a diagnosis or a prescription goes to a doctor.
Does Rosa replace my GP?
No. Rosa is prevention, not emergency care. We're built to sit alongside your GP, not replace them. We can share your results with them as a signed PDF if you'd like.
Can I get a prescription through Rosa?
No. Rosa never prescribes medication. If something in your results needs treatment, we say so plainly and point you to your GP or a specialist, with a signed PDF you can hand them.
How much does a complete check-up cost?
With Rosa, €295 a year. That covers the full 80+ biomarker panel at an accredited partner lab, the analysis with medical oversight, your personalised plan, and the dashboard holding your whole history. No referral, no insurance, no per-test price list to decode.
How is this different from a private lab package?
A lab sells you the draw and hands back a PDF of values and reference ranges. Rosa starts there. We read your 80+ markers together, against your own history and your own profile, and turn them into a plan with the three things that matter most right now. A lab tells you where you are. We tell you what to do about it.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account settings. No calls, no forms. You keep access until the end of your billing period, and your data stays available for export.
What's not included in the membership?
Additional full tests and advanced testing (microbiome, toxins, food sensitivities) are billed separately at member rates.
Do you accept company benefits?
We work with several Italian corporate wellness providers. If your employer offers a flexible benefit, ask them about Rosa or send us their name. We often arrange direct billing.
Where is my data stored?
In Europe, on infrastructure that complies with the EU GDPR and the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati. Specifically, Frankfurt (eu-central-1).
Who can see my results?
You, and the physician reviewing your report. Nobody else inside Rosa accesses identified records. Analytics are aggregated and anonymised.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can download a full copy from your account at any time, and request full deletion. Deletion takes effect within 30 days across our systems and backups.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Not now, not ever. We do not share identified health data with insurers, employers, or third parties. This is non-negotiable.
